1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra / 5.0 / 5 Speed / 9K Miles / AC

1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra – A Time Capsule from the Early SVT Era

By 1994, Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) had firmly made its mark with the Mustang Cobra, pushing performance and exclusivity well beyond the standard GT. That year marked the debut of the SN95 body style, blending the modern curves of the new era with time-tested 5.0L V8 power. At just 5,009 total Cobras built for 1994—and with only 1,003 finished in the striking combination of Rio Red (Code E8) over Saddle leather (Code 4S)—this model represents one of the most distinctive early SVT Mustangs ever assembled.

This particular example is truly exceptional, showing just 9,522 original miles and remaining under the care of a single Connecticut owner for over 30 years, as confirmed by its clean CARFAX history. With all VIN tags intact and wearing its original Rio Red paint, the car stands as a nearly untouched specimen of SVT heritage.

Under the hood, it retains the original numbers-matching 5.0L EFI V8—an engine that helped define an entire generation of performance cars. Paired to the T5 5-speed manual transmission and a 3.08 Traction-Lok rear axle, it delivers engaging, analog driving rarely experienced in modern vehicles. This Cobra has been lightly and tastefully enhanced with performance-minded upgrades, including BBK ceramic headers, a BBK H-pipe with cats, Flowmaster mufflers, and full tailpipes for a deeper, more assertive tone.

The factory suspension has been upgraded with Eibach lowering springs, Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates, Bilstein shocks and quad shocks, and a front sway bar—resulting in improved handling while retaining the ride quality expected of a low-mileage original. It rides on 18” Saleen wheels wrapped in Sumitomo tires (265/35/18 front, 285/35/18 rear), contributing to both aesthetic and grip.

Inside, the Saddle leather interior remains in superb condition, with original materials still intact. Amenities include power windows, locks, mirrors, and a power 4-way driver’s seat, along with the signature Hurst short-throw shifter, factory tachometer, cruise control, and cold-blowing A/C. The original Mach 460 premium sound system with AM/FM cassette and separate CD player delivers 1990s-era nostalgia in all the best ways. Nearly every factory feature—radio, heater, lights, and electronics—still functions flawlessly, per dealership inspection.

The original engine bay remains clean and stock-appearing apart from the upgraded caster camber plates. Likewise, the undercarriage is extremely well-preserved, displaying only minor age-related wear on the control arms and rear suspension components.
